      Commands:

All commands must start with / (forward slash) for them to execute.

/list = lists out all available channels on the network

/links = lists out the servers on the network (Good to have a list written
down in case the server you normally use is down for repairs or
              being upgraded.)

/admin = gives you the name of the Admin of the server you are curently on

/join #channel = you join the channel (pIRCh users do /join channel  no # needed)

      /part #channel = you leave the channel

      /quit = you quit IRC

/quit something-silly-typed-here = you quit IRC with what you typed behind
              the quit command

      /server new-server-name = you change to a different server

/ping nickname = sends a ping to that person to check how many seconds it
takes for what you type to him/her to be seen on his/her screen

/whois nickname = gives you nickname, address, and server currently on
              info on that user

/whowas nickname = tells you if that person was in IRC recently

/notify nickname = sends you a notification message when that person gets

/ignore nickname = everything that person says or messages to you is not
              seen by you

/msg nickname = sends a private message to another user

/dcc chat nickname = sends a dcc chat request to another user (Be aware
that using DCC chat shows your IP number to the other person you are
speaking with.  Some bad users will DCC chat you just to get your IP
number so they can nuke you.  Some users will not accept a DCC request
and prefer to speak in private message which doesn't reveal their IP to you.)

/dcc send nickname filename = sends named file to another user if they
              accept the DCC

/nick new-nickname = changes nickname,  XWorld allows up to 12 character
              nicknames.

      General Hints:

Not all IRCops will accept private messages.  Some have so much already
on their screen that they have no room for messages.  It is best if you need
an IRCop's help, to join the #xworld channel and ask on the channel for
help.  Be patient.  At times we have so much going on at once it may take
us a minute or two to answer you. Join the channel and state what you
need help with and the first available IRCop will help you.  If you come in
and say nothing or just 'hi', we will assume you just came in the channel to
watch the IRCops as they work and that you don't need help.  (Hint: we
are really boring most of the time and don't talk a lot in our channel.)

Net splits will happen on occasion.  The IRCops try to reconnect the
servers when a server split happens, but it is not always possible.  If
a router goes down somewhere and the server can't get a route to the
rest of the servers on the network to be linked back...we can do nothing
until the bad router is again working correctly, then we can reconnect.
IRCops only have control over the servers on the network.  We have
no control over routers and internet backbone line providers when they
have problems which causes our servers to split away and renders us
unable to reconnect till the problems are fixed.
